September of 2024 was the beginning of my bass fishing journey. Lake skinner only 20 mins from my residence made it an easy fun spot I could easily go multiple times a week given the addiction had started. I was out there throwing a Senko on a swim bait jig head that I bought off amazon. I caught 7 and one that was a good 3 pounder. Since then I was hooked, no pun intended.
Lake Skinner is a nice lake with a campgrounds well maintained and really friendly staff. To be quite honest I enjoyed talking to the rangers there and the marine biologist. New to the bass fishing i had tons of questions ad they always had answers and advice. Although there is a fee to fish I am happy to pay due to the money the is noticeably put back into the park.
Lake skinner is a great place to take the kids out bass fishing , camping and also a day out at the park. Right now the lake shore is more accessible due to the renovation of the Marina. Water levels when at its normal does have limited access. Since bass fishing I have had huge success out there and have never been skunked. Just recently couldn’t believe the amount off bass that is in the spots I was fishing.
If you are deciding to try fishing or get back into it. Or maybe you want to take the kiddos out I highly recommended.
